British Trials Round 3 - 1/2 June

Peace Brothers on Podium at Third Round of the British Trials Championship

Last weekend, Saturday and Sunday, 1st and 2nd June, saw the third and fourth round of the British Trials Championship take place. Paul Battensby and his team put on an excellent British Championship event at a new venue near Morpeth, Co.Durham.

Jack Peace, riding his 250 Factory MRS Sherco put in an excellent performance Saturday, finishing third overall. Dan Peace, having what he described as a bad day at the office came in 5th and Jack Sheppard finished 7th.

In the Trial 2 competition Luke Walker had the best result of his career achieving a podium position in 3rd place. In the Expert class Sherco MRS rider Emma Bristow finished in 4th place, whilst Tom Ablewhite had his best result finishing in 7th place. This was a well- deserved performance and worthy of being mentioned since Tom has been riding Sherco for 17 years!

Sunday saw a new day and an even better result with Dan Peace putting in a brilliant performance on his 300 factory MRS Sherco finishing second overall whilst his younger brother came in 3rd, just one mark adrift. Jack Sheppard finished in 7th place.

In Trial 2 James Fry was on his game finishing in 4th place whilst Luke Walker was unable to sustain his position from Saturday, finishing in 9th place. Emma Bristow finished in 7th, which by her standards would not have been acceptable!

Overall in the British Championship standings Dan Peace now lies in 3rd place and Jack in 4th. In Trial 2 Luke Walker is lying 6th and James Fry 7th. In Experts Emma Bristow is now lying in 5th position

Dan Peace - "I had a bad day on Saturday all round which lead me to finishing in 5th. Things went a lot better on Sunday where I was leading for most of the trial but a few too many mistakes meant I dropped down to second. I was happy with my riding and the bike and am now looking forward to Japan."

Jack Peace - "Overall two third places was quite a good result. My riding was better on Sunday and I was very close to the win. I'm happy with the 250 and I'm looking forward to Japan this weekend."

Emma Bristow - "It was a really good weekend but I was slightly disappointed as podium positions were my aim. I felt like I was riding well and it's such a competitive class. I finished 4th on Saturday and 7th on Sunday. It's now really close in the Championship for the top three positions and I'll be working hard for the next round. Next stop for me is round one of the World Championship this weekend in Japan."
