British Sprint Championship 27/28 July

FACTORY SHERCO MRS RIDERS TAKE TOP HONOURS

Enduro Sprint Championship

Factory Sherco MRS riders Jack Edmondson and Dan Mundell took top honours at the six and seventh rounds of the British Sprint Championship which was held last weekend, 27th and 28th July at Belle Isle Farm, Middletown near Welshpool.

Jack Edmondson, riding his Factory 300 4T, was first overall on Saturday with Dan Mundell a very close third behind him on his 2.5 Factory 4T.  Aaron Gordon finished in 7th place and Jed Etchells in 9th. In the Expert class it was a welcome return for MRS rider Richard Tucker, after a long injury, who finished 5th in expert class with Harry Hilliers-Rees in 7th.

It was reverse positions on Sunday with Dan Mundell taking the overall win and Jack Edmondson finishing 3rd. Jed Etchells rode much more like we are used to seeing this year finishing in a fine 5th position and Aaron Gordon ended up in 8th place. In the Expert class Harry Hilliers Rees upped his game finishing 5th overall with Richard Tucker in 6th.

A very good weekend all round for all our enduro riders.

Jack Edmondson - "Saturday - I started the day strong with a win in the first test, but from then on I would fall twice and loose the lead. 20 seconds down on Sagar with two test remaining I managed to take the overall win by less than a second. It was a tough day, I didn't really have a good feeling on the test but I'm happy to make it back to the front.

Sunday - The test was reversed on Sunday and it was tough. All the corners were very challenging and again I didn't have a great feeling. I kept pushing but found myself on the ground a lot! At the end of the day I finished with 3rd overall and second in E2 behind Sagar. I'm happy to continue with the lead of the Championship heading into the final two rounds in 3 weeks time.

Thanks to Martin at MRS for being a great help so far this season and Sherco for providing me with a great bike!"

Dan Mundell - "This weekend was a great success for me and the MRS Sherco tent. I started a little too steady on Saturday and had a little issue early on but after a couple of changes to the bike midday I managed to claw back time and finish the day in third just 0.4 off the win and 0.2 off second place.

Day two was fantastic for me winning every test and the overall by 35 seconds. I'm feeling really at home on the 250F now and I can't wait for more this weekend in Wales for the British Championship. Thanks to the Sherco Factory and Martin from MRS for all the support this weekend."
